On October 19, 1923, Walter Larson of Hannaford and Mayme Jorstad were married at the farm home of Mayme's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Jorstad in the Manfred Community.
Walter was educated in the Hannaford public schools. Mayme graduated from Harvey High School in 1919 with a permit to teach in rural schools. She taught in the "Black Hammer" school and the Lyall school in Wells County and in a school at Hannaford.
Since Mayme's parents desired to retire they sold their farm to Walter and Mayme. The purchase was financed by a Government F.S.A. loan program with forty years to pay. However, this young couple paid up in full in just five years.
They farmed from 1928 to 1965, when they retired and moved to Manfred where they spent many happy years.
Walter died June 9, 1969, Mayme died on December 23, 1985.They are buried at the Vang Cemetery north of Manfred.
