Edward attended the School for Emmissaries, in Bergen from 1890 to 1891 and Nordhordlands Amtsskol from 1891 to 1892. He immigrated in 1893. Then attended the U. C. Seminary from 1893-1894, St Olaf College from 1894 to 1895, and the U.C Seminary from 1895-1901.
From 1901-1908 he served as Pastor at the Vang Lutheran Church in Manfred. During this time the church building was constructed and East Vang was formed as a separate congregation, as the members of this new congregation found they lived too far from the church in Manfred. Pastor Eidesvik served both congregations. He was a good leader.
